This
cue is made from Birdseye Maple and blood-red-colored wood.
This color is so rare that I have only met one very old man
who correctly knew what it was. He said the piece that I
had was only the second piece he had ever seen. He was surprised
when I said I had enough to make a few cues.
This is the kind of Maple I use with my
Exotic Wood Cues. You get nothing but perfection, ...well,
anyway . . . you get the best!

Even though this cue is so long [64 inches]
it weighs only 20.40 ounces including the bumper. The balance
point is 2.5 inches in front of the wrap area and only woods

was told that this beautiful red color is only attained after
the tree reaches almost 100 years of age.

This
color is so rare that some furniture makers, who illegally
buy endangered rare woods, have never seen this color in
this particular wood and none that I have talked to even
knew the species did have this blood red color! This wood
is very, very rare.
I have enough blanks properly dried that
I got from a house built in 1904 to make a few more cues
and then that is it! Do you want one? I will be making myself
one if I can ever get caught up making cues for other people.
(Note added October 14, 2007: I still have not gotten caught
up enough to make myself a cue from this wood!)
Did you know
that this wood, at the earliest, came from a tree that had
to start growing back in the 1700s.....and it is very possible
that this cue that came from a tree that started growing
in the 1500s to 1600s. Amazing isn't it?
